Altınbaş University and Private Nursing Homes Association together for the elderly

Altınbaş University and Private Nursing Homes Association made a meaningful cooperation and organized First Aid Training for the Elderly.

Altınbaş University has signed an important cooperation with the Private Nursing Homes Association within the scope of social responsibility activities. On June 25, 2025, the online training program on “First Aid and Emergencies for the Elderly” aimed to raise awareness about emergencies that elderly individuals may face.

The event was led by Dr. Vildan Kandemir Bütün, President of the Private Nursing Homes Association. The training was given by Özlem Karagöl, Lecturer at Altınbaş University Vocational School of Health Services, First and Emergency Aid Program. In the presentation; comprehensive information was shared about common health crises in elderly individuals, situations requiring emergency intervention and basic first aid practices. 

Arzu Bulut, Branch Manager of Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services, attended the training, which was attended by a large number of nursing home residents, institutional staff and patient relatives from 50 nursing homes affiliated to the association. During the event, first aid approaches specific to the elderly were explained with examples and participants were interactively involved in the process.

This meaningful event, which brought together academia and non-governmental organizations, set an example in terms of studies carried out to improve the quality of life of elderly individuals. At the end of the event, thanks to the contributions of Assist. Assist. Özlem Karagöl and all stakeholders who contributed to the organization were thanked.

Commenting on the event, President of the Association Dr. Vildan Kandemir Bütün said, “We aim to continue this valuable step taken for the safety and health of the elderly with similar joint studies.”
